This Holiday, Show KSW and our communities that “Together, We’ll Make It”
Happy Holidays, friends!
There’s still time to give!
‘TOGETHER, WE’LL MAKE IT”
The arts are and will always be central to how we come to celebrate as well as how we articulate and imagine the people’s struggle. We create so that we can tell the stories that are often unheard, and know that the power of the APA communities here in the Bay Area and beyond, are only growing as time passes and our movement grows.
For nearly half a century, KSW has helped APA artists document our stories, fight erasure, and imagine more just worlds which include us, and the most vulnerable among us. It is during times of crisis that people turn to the arts to render hope, mutual care, community safety, and visions for a better world that we believe can and will exist. Our artists need our support so that they can continue this critical work.
If you are in a position to give, we are asking you to support us in an ambitious goal. We have raised $20,000 so far. Our goal is to raise $25,000 in individual donations this year!
Your support goes directly to programs in the year ahead:
In January, we will be hosting the exciting exhibition by Art 25: Art in the 25th Century - a dynamic collective with artists Lisa Jarrett, Lehua M. Taitano (KSW’s incredible Program & Community Manager!), and Jocelyn Kapumealani Ng. Future Ancestors is an archive of queer familial intimacy; a photo exhibit with an accompanying sound installation and interpretive captions. A contemporary conversation about survival and representation across borders, space, and time in the 21st century; the collective Art 25 interrogate historical access, curation, collection, consumption, and the preservation of Indigenous and Black art and culture. The opening is Saturday, January 18th - more info to come!
In February, we’ll begin recruitment for our General Planning Committee for APAture Festival!
Thank you for all that you do for working class people, Asian Pacific Americans, and the arts!
With gratitude,
