Kearny Street Workshop’s Year in Review

Dear Friends,

Thank you all for supporting KSW throughout this year. We wanted to take a moment to reflect on the many incredible accomplishments and the programs we hosted with your help, including:

  • We hosted our very first Asian American Visual Artists Lab (AVA Lab), a 6 month learning cohort led by Kim Acebo Arteche culminating in the exhibition “Trust the Tides,” with cohort members: Houyee Chow-Jiménez, Michelle Lin, Kim Requesto, Malaya Tuyay, Ngân Vũ, Jes Young.

  • We hosted the 25th Anniversary of APAture Festival! Featuring over 50 artists across 7 disciplines, audiences reflected on the theme of RETURN and showcased to packed houses. Read our APAture recap here!

This weekend, our first Artists Take Care retreat will close out the year. A retreat for artists who are also cultural organizers and activists, we’ll be pouring a little care back into those that support our communities so well.

Also, it’s important to mention that this year our co-Executive Director, Jason Bayani, celebrated 10 years at Kearny Street Workshop. That we’ve been able to retain our staff these last years was made entirely possible by all of your support and belief in our mission.
