Explore Bailan CHamoru (dance) and Lalai (chant), and reflect on your experience through collaborative sharing. This program fosters a deeper connection to CHamoru heritage through language, art, and community.

Inafamaolek.us is proud to sponsor the visit of Heidi Chargualaf Quenga, Executive Director of Kutturan CHamoru Foundation (KCF), a distinguished leader in preserving Pacific Islander heritage. As the first Pacific Islander to receive the California Arts Council Artist-In-Residence award (2000-2002), Heidi has made significant contributions to cultural preservation. In 2019, she was honored as a Fafa’någue (Certified CHamoru Cultural Instructor) by Saina Frank Rabon of Taotao Tåno’, Guam.

Heidi’s work extends beyond KCF, as she serves as a CHamoru Cultural Advisor for various community groups and initiatives, including the SoCal Pacific Islander Community Response Team and Pacific Islander Health Partnership. Her passion for ensuring the inclusion of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders remains central to her efforts. Heidi holds a B.S. in Business Management from San Francisco State University and is deeply committed to advancing the visibility and inclusion of Pacific Islander culture across the U.S.

We are honored to have Heidi’s expertise and dedication in our community and look forward to her visit.

This intergenerational gathering event is made possible through the generosity of CHamoru Charity of Northern California, Inc., the Kutturan Chamoru Foundation and our larger community.

In the spirit of our traditions of geftao (generousity) and chenchule’ (social reciprocity) we invite you to contribute in the way that you're able. You’re welcome to bring a dish to share, and/or monetary contribution to support the cost of KCFs visit and sustainability of Inafamaolek.us. We also welcome day of event volunteers and are truly grateful for your presence simply coming as you are.
