Artist Feature: Al Robles
Today's #MondayArtistFeature (with a slightly new ~look~) is the legendary Filipino poet Al Robles (1930-2009). Robles grew up in the Fillmore District of San Francisco and was an essential member of KSW when it was getting started in the 70s. Robles' poetry was impacted by the neighborhood and Filipinx community he grew up with and was deeply invested in. To learn more about his incredible life, you can watch the 2008 documentary directed by Curtis Choy titled "Manilatown is in the Heart: Time Travel with Al Robles."
