Support visionary APA artists + Come to RESET, KSW’s Holiday Party

Your gift to Kearny Street Workshop supports visionary APA artists + Come to RESET, KSW’s Holiday Party

At a time when the pandemic and its repercussions continues to take a toll on mental health, your gift will support visual artists and writers coming together on healing retreats, to build technical and intuitive skills, and also to showcase their work. These retreats will focus on rest; space for breath, meditation, and ancestral rituals not yet colonized.

Your support will allow us to support visionaries in the creation of new, impactful works, to create residencies for artists, offer low-cost studio space, and to create programs that will bring arts and resistance together the way it has been done for centuries. We believe KSW has a role in building a more just future. Do you? Will you join us?

Your support goes to artists like Shelley Wong, who has been a member of KSW’s community first as a showcase artist in 2015's APAture Festival and was our Literary featured artist in this year's Festival. She was also an Interdisciplinary Writer’s Lab (IWL) fellow in its 2015 relaunch year, a Neighborhood Hero reader in our 2019 Poetry in the Parks event with Quiet Lightning on Angel Island, and a featured artist in our reading series, KSW Presents. Her 2022 debut poetry collection As She Appears was longlisted for the National Book Award, a finalist for the Northern California Book Award, and won a Lambda Literary Award. Congratulations Shelley, and thank you for being a part of our community!

“I'm so thankful to Jason, Mihee, and the mighty staff, volunteers, board members, and supporters of KSW for their passion and commitment to the Bay Area APIA community! Their workshops and reading support have raised my practice and connected me with community, sustaining my creative spirit. From working writer, to chapbook author, to first book author who is still a working writer, I celebrate Kearny Street Workshop's abundance, integrity, and joy. Their work is absolutely vital to the San Francisco Bay area artistic ecosystem. Please do what you can to support and sustain this legendary APIA multidisciplinary arts nonprofit, the very first!”
