花和霧 flowers and fog is an intergenerational performance duet between melissa lewis wong and their mother Joy Chenyu Lewis. The show will premiere in San Francisco’s Chinatown this May 17-19 & May 25-26, 2024. Melissa (a dancer and drag artist) and Joy (a singer) weave their artistic lineages through film, contemporary/Chinese dance, drag, and classical Chinese song — to find a new meeting place in the middle.

Several years in the making, 花和霧 flowers and fog is a performance portrait bridging cultures, identities, and art disciplines; exploring the relationship between a parent and child, and its inevitable ruptures and reconnections.
