kalayaan: Working the Archive

Join us as we open up the Kearny Street Workshop archive. We invite our community to contribute Pilipinx & Asian American zines to our historical record dating back to our establishment at the height of the Asian American Movement. We'll also have talks on archival practice and a zine-making workshop oriented towards using the archive as a resource for creating new art. Our weaver-in-residence, Charlene Tan, will be in working on her participatory weaving project Research & Remembering: Community salvaged plastic bags.
Bring extra copies of your zines to trade and submit to potential distribution opportunities with Brown Recluse Zine Distro and 34 Trinity Arts & News.
