Local Language is looking for artists for their Political Poster Contest

In honor of the rich progressive history of art in the Bay Area Local Language is offering a $200 prize for a poster that is powerful, inspiring, thought-provoking, and eye-catching! The Community Poster program seeks to provide a platform and resources for artists in the community via fine art prints (protest posters) distributed for free to progressive organizations and the community at large.

Guidelines:

- All images and content must be your own original work, free from copyright restrictions.
- Submissions are not limited; artists can submit as many designs as they like!
- Please submit your work as high resolution (12”w x 18”h, 150 dpi or more) TIF, JPG, PDF or AI digital file.

USAAF 2021

APICC is now accepting proposals for virtual and outdoor art events occurring in May as part of the 24th annual United States of Asian America Festival. Produce an event for #USAAF2021 under the theme of "Forging Our Futures - SoMa & Chinatown." After a over a year of the pandemic and continued political unrest, how are we fostering recovery, resilience, and regeneration in our SoMa and Chinatown communities in these difficult times?

Submission deadline is Monday, February 8 at 11:59PM PST.

Public Art & Design Portfolio

SOMA Pilipinas is calling on artists and community members to submit concepts for public art portfolio for designs for upcoming and potential projects including bike racks, freeway underpass, gateway, historical markers, murals, plaques, utility Boxes, and signage.

To apply, fill out this form https://forms.gle/1FK6YfpJQwBwRvdL9 and submit a letter of intent with 3 to 5 images of past work by the deadline of Tuesday, February 16, 2021- 5pm PST. In the letter, include the project design you’d like to submit for (i.e. Gateway, Plaques, Mural, etc.), and any initial concepts or direction you may have. Please detail any past experience that might support your application.

The finalist will be notified by March 15, 2021.
