APAture defines a unit of work, by discipline, as:

PERFORMANCE: A single piece or excerpt of a longer piece no longer than 15 minutes. Videotaped performances preferable, otherwise attach a detailed description.
MUSIC: A musical presentation or performance no longer than 15 minutes (submit enough tracks to give an reasonable impression of your work).
FILM/VIDEO: A single short film or video no longer than 15 minutes submitted for consideration in VHS or DVD format. Accepted films must be put on MiniDV by the filmmaker two weeks prior to APAture.
LITERARY (READINGS): One reading no longer than 10 minutes. Submit an audiotape with your manuscript, if possible.
LITERARY (SPOKEN WORD): One performance no longer than 10 minutes. Submit a videotape, audiotape, or manuscript via email. Indicate emailed manuscript submissions on your form.
TABLES/PRINTED MATERIALS (ZINES/COMICS): Work to sell at a table. Submit enough materials to show a range of your work.

Accepted artists MUST adhere to the above time limits. NO EXCEPTIONS. Artists will be cut off should they exceed their allotted time.

No materials will be returned unless you include an appropriately sized SASE with sufficient postage to mail back all submitted materials. Submission materials without an SASE will be kept only until October 15, 2008 unless other arrangements are made. Unclaimed work may be thrown away.

Fill out the form as completely as possible. Answer all questions. Give all contact information. We need all the requested information to give your submission proper consideration. Your information will not be sold or given away.

Submit only work you intend to present. Last-minute changes will not be accepted. There are, however, provisions for works in progress.

Selling Work

Tables

Artists whose only manner of presentation is vending or whose work must be sold to be experienced. (e.g. zine editors, comic book artists, recording artists who do not wish to or are unable to perform, writers who do not read or perform their work, etc.). These artists will compete for table space in the same manner that other artists compete for exhibition or performance space and are subject to the same rules. These artists will be awarded table space at the discretion of the curators. There will be no additional fee for table space and the artists may sell their work at their tables with no further consideration to KSW.

Gallery

Visual artists whose work is exhibited in the gallery may sell exhibited work with no financial consideration to KSW. Artists must inform KSW with this application that they intend to sell their work and must include prices with the submission. An exhibiting visual artist who wishes to sell works which are not included in the exhibition is referred to the “community” category.

Community

Artists who wish to perform or exhibit visual work at APAture can sell merchandise IN ADDITION to their exhibition or performance. These artists may have their merchandise sold for them at the APAture community table. Artists will be charged 20% of sales.
