Erin Mei-Ling Stuart is
a choreographer and the artistic director of EmSpace Dance.
She has been called “an absolute power on stage”
and “a talented choreographer with a gift for theatricality”*.
Originally trained in classical music and ballet, she discovered
modern dance in 1995, and two years later began choreographing
independently and as Artistic Associate with Huckabay McAllister
Dance. In 2000, Erin founded EmSpace Dance.
In addition to choreographing, Erin has performed with
Huckabay McAllister Dance, Flyaway Productions, Saltfarm,
Nancy Karp & Dancers, Deborah Slater Dance Theater,
Lizz Roman & Dancers, Steamroller, Kneejerk Dance Project,
Potrzebie, Kulingtang Arts, and OnSite Dance Company. In
2004, Erin was honored to be one of the first artists to
receive a competitive grant from the new CHIME (Choreographers
in Mentorship Exchange) program.
