Bid now on our art auction! ✋

2022 marks 50 years of making community out of artists, artists out of community, and creating programs that reflect our life experiences, histories, and dreams. To imagine who we are and know where we come from is critical to building the healthier, stronger, inclusive world we all wish to live in. This is why our year-long festivities are themed after our Organizing Principles — renewal, autonomy, futurity and solidarity.

Read more on our Upcoming Festivities below, where details for each program will be released throughout the year. In the meantime, there are a multitude of ways to Get Involved in our upcoming KSW50 Gala, themed around renewal.

Our 50th Anniversary “KSW50 Renewal Gala” is set for June 11th, 2022 from 5PM-9PM at The San Francisco Mint. This indoor-outdoor evening will be a celebration focused on rejuvenation and healing, while harkening back to KSW’s rich history.

We will host:

  • Intergenerational arts and entertainment from renowned APA artists including:

    • Poetry by K-Ming Chang (author of “Bestiary” and the upcoming “Gods of Want” (One World/Random House), National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 Honoree).

    • Performance by Francis Wong Special Ensemble, harkening back to the Asian American Jazz Festival in the 80s and 90s.

  • The “Imagine Auction” from award-winning artists live now! Founder Jim Dong, Former Executive Director Nancy Hom, Weston Teruya, Kim Acebo Arteche, Colin Kimzey, Erina C. Alejo, Kristi Chan, Jenifer Wofford, Kevin Chen, and so many more!

  • Tablescape sculptures designed by former Executive Director Truong Tran. We know it’ll be tempting, but please do not go home with any sculptural pieces!

  • Living Archive Storytelling”, (named after our podcast) where—through interviews—we will capture the powerful memories which make up our collective history (you can also share your story with us before the gala through our Living Archive Questionnaire)

  • Delicious small bites from Farmhouse Thai, Liang’s Village, Hula Hoops, and Bhoonma. Dumplings from We Grew up in San Francisco Chinatown (2X Dumpling War Champion), and dessert from Ube Ritual with OM France.

  • An awe striking raffle with prizes including tickets to museums, fitness centers, restaurants, art supplies, festivals, wine, wine and more wine.

  • Community Weaving for our futures with artist Charlene Tan

  • An open bar featuring Viridian with their signature “Tomato Beef” cocktail (vegetarian). Cream ales, IPAs, and blonde ales from Scott Louie, Hella Tropikal cocktails (Malibu rum, guava, coconut water, lime, mint) by Herna Cruz-Louie. Wine from Truett-hurst Winery, SoMar Bar and Lounge, and Lagunitas beer.

  • Dance the night away with our special guest, global superstar DJ Lady Sha
